This is in bedroom so I want black-out drapes or similar effect. If drapes they must slide completely to each side to allow view during the day. This wide expanse (probably need an extra 6” on one side; only have 2” trim on other side) needs several support brackets from what I read, but the drapes need to slide over the brackets. Alternatively could consider pull-down or motorized shades that darken room at night.
I know this can be done by companies, spending s $$$$, but am hoping for a successful DIY solution due to budget.
