Sawfly just starting here so not sure yet... I usually do not spray most years BUT when they are bad I'll spray Spinosad 2-3 times per season and that ends there reign...I have sawfly larvae from May to November here if I choose to do nothing...

Me too! I am also no spray, so I‘m just just seeing what happens. We have a large cicada brood hatching this year, and my theory is that all the normal predators are just eating cicadas because there are so many of them. We’ve also seen a marked increase in butterflies for the same reason, I think, so hopefully after the cicadas are gone, some of the pests will get eaten.

Not sawfly, but this year I am seeing aphids in numbers larger than any other year I've gardened. I'm also no spray. I'm just observing to see if it bothers the roses too much or not.

Magpie, I have never seen aphids like this year. It is like a Biblical plague. Leaves are sticky and buds are totally coated in aphids, but I am also seeing lots of ladybugs . Boy do they have their work cut out for them

Sawfly are on the rampage as well and black spot like I have never had . A challenging start for sure.

My sawfly larva are also out of control. My florentinas foliage was completely destroyed to the point I had to remove a lot of the foliage. I also do not spray.

I had a huge amount of aphids early but they are gone now.

I sprayed with water some but I think the lady bugs got them. We also have the 13 year sicadas here so maybe too much food around.
