They are identical. One will be in the living room and the other in the family room/den.

Do NOT do that. Not a good idea to get the identical thing is a different room. You should always change it up when decorating each room.

I agree with Sorell. I guess you must really like it to be thinking of buying two, and that's great. Sometimes it's so hard to find one you like. But it has the potential of looking matchy-matchy. Lyn's idea is good. Does it come in a different size or shape so they coordinate but aren't identical? If you have matching coffee tables and end tables in both rooms that would definitely be going too far with the matching. How easy is it to return the table? If it is easy, you could always buy two and see how they look in your house. Because no matter what perfect strangers' opinions are, it's your house so ultimately you need to please yourself. :-)

What else is in the two rooms? Each of them? What exactly are the two cocktail tables? Do you have pictures of each space to be loaded here below as jpegs in the open floor plan that clearly has two seating areas?

There are no hard and fast rules in design, but you have nowhere near enough information to elicit a yes or a no answer. Or a suggestion for something different: )
