I really like what you're doing with the wood siding. Are you painting the eaves and gutters too?

I like the white trim everywhere but I think swapping it all out for your dark gray would be stunning.

Not sure you need shutters...I like the windows now.

I don't think the door needs a bright color.....think brown, brick red or dark gray close to the colors on the house for a monochrome look.

cat_ky, I am sanding my siding and its cedar, i wanns do a german smear to my bricks, my roof is black, i like the cream or chiffon color on the trim and post cause i was actually thinking about that, i also wanna pain my front door like a apple green. what do you think

tracefloyd, those gutters are coming down, so you saying now white or cream color on trim do a dark grey on trim, cause i plan on doing a german smear to my house as well, i love apple green for the front door and i would change out my screen door tho

The shmear looks good with all the trim and gutters dark charcoal gray. No white trim.

Grayish-blue concrete porch paint. A nice blue. Paint the porch ceiling the same blue as the floor. That would be awesome.

Chairs and plant pots your colors. Door mat and carpet.

Put a lattice screen at the end of the porch, the size of the opening...hopefully go around it.

    Here is my concept:

    I'm so pleased.

Is there a paint maker you're using? What are your sample colors called? I love your charcoal color but wonder if it would get washed out in sunlight. We only see it in shadow. You need a lower LRV than you might think. It should go with the roof.

For the green and blue, the paint maker may recommend coordinating colors with the gray you choose. Or vice versa if you have a green in mind.

In addition to the two big black pots, you could add back in your current chairs and decor indefintely or til you get a couple of Adirondacks.

What about solid brass house numbers? I also added an uplight...see edited rendering.

No white/cream for trim with the shmear. I tried it and honestly it looks like Santa's Village with icicles and snow piled up. Sorry just something about the architecture and the wood lets your house get cutesy real fast.

The darker grays are nice, the LRVs of 6, 10, and 14 is a good range to choose from.

    Here is the Basil.

A brown/beige porch paint, an earthy terra cotta clay, brings out the green. SW pairs Basil with Hopsack so look at that or Latte or Double Latte.

    Leave the blue porch ceiling.

The only color match in my rendering here is the Basil. The others are approx.

For a dark grey exterior color I would go for Metropolis by Benjamin Moore. You can contrast it with white to make it lighter, black details to make it more dramatic and glam, or slate blue to make it playful.

Hah! So funny about the greens. Oh okay, I just edited the other post. First I said I like the apple green and then I saw your sophisticated Basil and I'm like, okay that works nicely.

So now you have two versions of your color scheme. Any other questions lol?

    No worries about the typo.

I am not fond of the white looking bottom in the picture above. I would forget about the german shmear. I think the brick is a much better look with your wood siding. The Shmear looks like the house is cut in half.

Like this...you do have your colors in your brick.

The Basil and Double Latte are used here.

The gray in the blue, green, brown and gray paints are all cool versions compared to the warm wood and brick. Very nice.
