Shall I keep the medicine cabinet in my bathroom remodel?

Is the medicine cabinet passe? Are there any designs that does not make the bathroom look dated?

If it works for you, who cares if it is passe. The design police will not come and take you away or anything.

Everything will look dated at some point! I dislike the cheap builder grade medicine cabinets placed to the side of the sink, which were common in 1980 to 1990. Those look dated to me.

Here are my medicine cabinets, placed in front of the sinks. Robern 24" W x 48" H. Recessed installation. They store a lot of things.

Ya know, in my other house I at first thought the medicine cabinets were outdated. But I gradually began to use mine and I really like it. I am looking into installing something nice in my new home. If it’s useful to you, then it’s never outdated or out of style.

We got rid of our medicine cabinet when remodeled our master bath and installed a small magnifying mirror and towel bar. I hated the way stuff always fell out of medicine cabinet into the sink. It worked for us because we gained extra storage space in a new linen closet.
