Paint Design Dilemma

Worth painting the stair rails?

Sorry, forgot to include this question in my previous post. In our new home, the stair rails are black. The downstairs walls are gray, which continues up to the loft. The doors and floor trim are white. We might also paint the fireplace mantle white. Would it be worth painting the stair rails white, or would it look odd?

I would do my best to make that balustrade disappear. It's like you builder got a price from his finish carpenter to install something nice, but decided to have the guy who built the deck out back work his magic to save money.

I think you may eventually want to change the gray so live there for a while to see how you like other elements then make a plan that can be executed over time. The house is perfectly livable as is now. Good Luck

What a lovely home! Your floors and furnishings are warm and so I would paint the walls white. the cool grey clashes.
