O, I love the little centaury. I have a lot of time for these dainty plants (and have seeded centaury erythraea around my allotment). Unsurprising to read Mr. Keesling is a retired engineer (eye for detail).

Centaury erythraea is a beautiful species. I love all things Gentianales. Jim is good at it because he was an engineer, and also because we are both followers of Alan Weakley who is all about observation of details. Alan sees so many things in a simple leaf. I'm really impressed that Jim pressed over 700 herbarium specimens. I don't know where I'd be now if I hadn't been inspired by Jim. He gave me a deeper thirst for botany. We got into it once concerning bindweed. I thought I was being correct, but I'd love to read that thread again, and I'm sure he was correct, though I didn't think so at the time.
