You could give the space a Greatroom hangout feel with comfortable seating with sofa and armchair. Cushy barstools that swivel would be part of the seating arrangement.

The blue dots are decor that draws the eye down to the coffee table as you enter, and a big urn or serving set or vase on the island stops the eye there.

The round rug and the runner rug match to tie the space together. Colors are for illustration only. This is a concept...I did not measure anything.
