I don't care for blue on Brazilian Cherry floors. It makes the red in the floors really pop. So I would lean green. Are you keeping the sofa shown and the cream colored sofa is going to be an addition to the room? In the picture, that sofa looks icy next to the floors. Next to something else it would probably look more neutral. The colors in the rug Housegal200 showed would go better than blue. Even if you don't care for that rug or it's not in the budget, it gives you ideas about which direction to go in. Light colored rugs show dirt easily, so it's better to get something darker or something with a pattern in a room that is frequently used or is in a traffic pattern.

I'd pick something with an orangey Brazilian cherry-colored accent. Not too prominent, just enough so the rug and the floor visually relate. If you ignore the prominent cherry color in the room, the rug will likely look like it's floating on top of the cherry.

I’d head towards light/airy yet cozy, given its year round use and a rug that is muted/softer will create a calmness, if that‘s want you want.

Cushions will also have a big impact.
