Brown Spots on autumn fire stonecrop?

Bought this autumn fire stonecrop at the nursery yesterday for $3. Wondering what the brown spots are. Assuming some sort of fungal issue from overhead watering, but I’m kind of a noob to these larger upright stonecrops. Lower leaves are unaffected. If this were anything else I would probably cut down the stem/stalk to the healthy lower leaves, but it looks like the buds are about to open and I want to see bloom color in person before determining where I’m going to put it. Any recs on care? Leave it how it is, cut off affected leaves, but leave stalk until after bloom?
