For clarity, we chose a brushed nickel faucet, and would choose a brushed nickel vanity light. As we don’t want the light to conflict with the “statement” mirror shown below, we are looking at “bar light” vanity lights. I keep thinking that the tube-like one below looks like the old fashioned flourescent lights. I originally chose the black-backed fixture below (which we would do in brushed nickel like the fixture directly below it), but am afraid that may be too “heavy” and we might need something that feels lighter. Help!!!

None of the lights suit the vanity or mirror. What is this? That door on a floating vanity?

Below are the vanity lights we’re using for the other bathrooms (going for a nautical look for a beach house), where we have more simple mirrors.

I thought these competed with the statement mirror. Please let me know what you think could work! AND THANK YOU!!

Hi Jan — The vanity doors are navy shaker style like in the photo. I chosen from what was offered, and there is no reversing on this. My other choice was non-floating that looked like builders grade. Have to keep the costs reasonable, as I’m doing 5 bathrooms. I know this isn’t a typical floating vanity, think of it as a hybrid and better than a builder’s grade vanity. Note: There is no sidesplash, just a backsplash.

IMO the mirror is driving the bus and I do not like the mirror and for sure not with any of those lights. A nice square or rectangular mirror over the sink with a nice good light bath bar would keep this simple and not really nautical at all. No reason to do nautical becuse you live at the beach and IMO themed bathrooms are often those spaces you hate quickly . I agree wall mounted vanities are usually simple and slab . Where is the tile going ?

In terms of looking beachy, our house is not on the beach, but two blocks away, and most homes in this shore community have made their houses “beachy”, with fun signs, weatheredfurniture, rope, decorations, wicker, etc., for a beachy vibe. Our house is modern, so we’re not doing wicker or rope, but still want the fun beachy feel.

We thought the mirror was a good “pop” with the navy vanity. If we keep it, what type of vanity light would you suggest?

If we choose to return it, would you suggest a framed or not framed mirror, and what type of frame? The vanity is 36 inches. We bought the below mirror for our tub bathroom, but this is more narrow. I think it’s 24 inches.

I really like the mirror! Is it the correct size for the vanity. Buy vanity first then choose mirror. As mentioned by Jan, most floating vanities do not have a raised panel. Navy is a great color, consider flat panel floating vanity. As for lighting like #2, the others look a little to traditional

Thanks for the quick response! I assume you are recommending also that we switch from the blue circle to a rectangle? The vanity is 36 inches and this mirror is only 22 inches wide, so you are right that this is too narrow.

Here is another miniminalist lighting option — still trying to keep the blue circle mirror because my Hubble likes the splash statement.

Here is another one, which we could do in all white or brushed nickel, to just have a light but not complete with the blue round mirror. Thoughts?? This is so hard!!

Just a vote for a fixture without the exposed bulbs - I feel like the trend is tired and its tough to keep the glass clean - love the faucet - I’d be tempted to do a super minimal bath and a light with some whimsy

Thank you Jan! It is too late with the vanity — it is ordered and paid for. Our contractor required us to get our cabinets from a single cabinet maker, or it was going to be much more work for me. I live 3 hours away from the construction site and cannot manage vanities being delivered to the site, with me having to check the quality/breakage, etc., so I had to go with the cabinet maker. Anyway, the vanity is done.

Thank you for the idea on the light! If you think this works with the statement mirror, maybe we will go with that and — if we hate the vanity — switch that out someday.

Whomever would produce the wall hung vanity you ordered? Is anything but quality. Your builder isn't your designer.

Me? I'd order it, take the hit, and drive it up there myself, : )

It would be easier for her to replace the doors for flat-front modern ones. I like the more recent mood board with her round mirror.

I think it’s best long term to do clean, modern look and add local artist pictures of beach, pictures of the local town or signs that bring the beach-y vibe in without the theme look everyone else is doing.
