How should best fit in a wall in oven or remodel cabinet for oven

So me and my wife bought her grandmother‘s old house that was builtl in 1963 the oven is from that time with the width being 22 1/4 and 36 height which we cant find anywhere so was thinking about trying widen the wall space for bigger oven dont know cause it brick. this is the only brick part of thr house.

Is that the width and height of the opening? How deep is the opening? The gray conduit is for natural gas, right? If you could fit a replacement oven would it be gas or electric?

It looks like the opening could be expanded six inches to the right pretty easily ? 30” ovens are standard now… while you are at it raise the header and put the microwave here.

This was probably a single gas with a separate lower broiler.

The 22.25" sounds like the cut out width of a 24" wall oven. There are two gas ovens of 24" width on AJ Madison (One Frigidaire, one Summit) and 49 electric. The opening would be too tall for most of the electric, but too big is better than too small. I am not recommending you get it at AJ Madison, but they have many brands to compare.

Demo the brick and replace with a cabinet.

Just get rid of all of the brick and gain a lot more room for a standard 30" oven, and possibly even a pantry pull out. Depends on the total space there.

Bluestar also sells gas wall ovens, including a 24 inch wide model.

That requires a 23-5/8" cutout which is too wide and at $4,930 it's ridiculously expensive.

The reason though they still make ovens that fit in a 22" cutout, is for situations like this, is that not everyone is up for demolition and having a big unfinished, or cobbled area in their kitchen, or committing oneself to a full kitchen remodel.

Plenty of European kitchens have 24" cooktops and ovens and it's not exactly like Europeans can't cook.

If you are planning to redo the kitchen in a few years, it would still probably be cheaper to get one that fits now and sell it used to give it away than it would be to take all the brick out, do a temporary finish, buy a couple new cabinets and do a full remodel in a few years.

The Summit TTM7882BKW would probably fit as its requires a 34 1/8" H x 22 3/8" W x 23" D cutout though you may want to read the reviews at Home Depot and AJ Madison.

The Frigidaire GCWG2438AF requires a 37-1/2" high cutout which you don't have.

Before I make a decision you should figure out how you cook. My in-laws have a smaller oven and cookie sheets and bigger pans will not fit in their oven. It would drive me crazy. It never bothered them.
