I like LL Punch (I have 9), but I haven't gotten those varying shades of white to deep red. It just turns a pretty deep pink all at once.

And how long have your nine been in the ground? How large are they? Might you have a picture or two of the grouping?

The one I’ve been able to observe the past three summers in MN has not looked like the pictures. I thought this year it might be better because we had ample rain vs. drought the last two but not so. it just turns an average pinkish red.

I think the photos where the flowers are all all stages are hard pruned in the winter. The one I’ve observed only have the dried flowers removed in the spring and it blooms and ages very uniformly across the plant. I’ve observed this phenomenon on other cultivars.

Thanks for the picture @chrysalids. I am kind of surprised that even after almost 3 seasons they are less than 4 feet in height. I'm not "complaining" I am just surprised.

@rouge21_gw (CDN Z5b/6a), I have another cluster of three Little Lime Punch hydrangeas near the house foundation to the front and three at separate spots in an island bed and all of them are just over three feet, 40 inches at most. Maybe they will grow taller in a couple years, but I would be quite happy if they stayed at this height.

@chrysalids - Can I ask how far apart are yours spaced? I have 3 LLP and am waiting to plant them in Fall, when the weather cools down a little bit. The planting site faces West, so it will receive afternoon sun.

@ bellarosa, Little Lime Punch hydrangeas that are clustered together are planted 1.5 feet apart. I am guilty of planting hydrangeas closely together.

@ rouge21_gw (CDN Z5b/6a), LOL! They are planted in a triangle so I figured that each had more than enough room to spread out to the back and the outer sides. Claus Dalby and Stacey from PW podcast on TY share my plant closely together philosophy.

@ @ rouge21_gw (CDN Z5b/6a), I just checked that cluster of LLP hydrangeas closer. Turns out that they are about 3.5 ft apart in the triangle. LOL! Not sure why I thought they were 1.5 ft apart.
