I'm going with Eryngium, just because Argemone have individual seed pods, rather than clusters. No idea as to species.

I just ordered 50 albiflora seeds. I've tried germinating Argemone seeds a couple times years ago, with no success. It's better to sow them where they are to grow because they resent transplanting.

^ Ya, I'm going to try to spread some of these in a park, if I can harvest them at the right time. Their big, white, papery blooms are definitely eye-catching and showy!

Well hey, I have also ordered a coupla argemone (polyanthemos and platyceras) and dithering about a pale yellow ochraleuca. Having struggled to establish romneya, I am getting my large white bloom fix with the argemones.

Jay, they do need quite a long strat - I do mine in sandy soil in little modules in the fridge which can just be turned out without disturbing the taproot.
