Hi Moses, we have been out of town this weekend but when we left my True Love had many buds , some close to opening. But it quickly regained its leaves and set buds so it looks really healthy, in spite of the terrible shipping. Maybe I will have a surprise bloom when I get home. I will let you know

I'm glad to hear this, Kristine. My True Loves (2 bushes), are exceeding my expectations! Already, they're 24" tall and luxuriantly foliaged. I'll wager that yours will reach 3' easily. The blooms, though miniflora sized, are heavy petaled and long lasting. I have both deadheaded in the traditional manner for exhibition purposes, and let the blooms self clean...either way, True love goes on growing like a weed.

I know you will be delighted.

While on the same topic, I marvel at Ping Lim...so many beautiful, vigorous, disease resistant/free roses to his credit. He seems to have boundless energy and mostly gives his roses 'intelligent,' names. That's at least to the ones I'm familiar with. Could you post a photo of a couple nice looking bud shots, then later, full open blooms so folks can get inspired.

I ordered True Inspiration from Home Depot which was shipped. When I unboxed it, it was healthy with buds. I waited to plant until it bloomed as there was no tag on the plant . and it was a pale pink bloom instead. Clearly incorrect, and I returned it. My sister also bought what she thought was True Inspiration from a local HD and it appears to be True Sincerity. I missed my window to order it from All My Thyme as I tried to get a ”better deal” from Home Depot. rats!

    Echo,

Amazon is selling True Inspiration for $32.26 delivered free with Prime. Comes in about a week. I believe Amazon just says keep the rose if incorrect, and credits your account anyway. I could be wrong.

Sorry for the poor service from Home Depot. I believe a second True Inspiration I purchased earlier this year, since I liked the first one purchased last year so well, was a Home Depot order rose, can't recall. What came instead was a grafted True Devotion....pale pink, heavy petaled, extremely fragrant (possibly short lived bloom though, time will tell), which I planted anyway.

This newer Ping Lim's line, True Bloom.....seems to be a leap ahead in flower form, output, and disease resistance over his earlier Easy Elegance roses.

Wait until it starts sending out fresh basal growth. You won't believe your eyes. They are husky as husky can be.

I can see how terrible it must have looked when you got it. You really turned a disaster into a success. The blooms next season, 2025, will be so big, still a miniflora, you won't think it is the same bush.

    I cant wait!!

I have had nothing but great success ordering plants through HD and I’ve done it probably at least half a dozen times over the last few years. I bought my True Love rose at our local HD, so it had no shipping stress and so far it is a rose that makes me happy. It’s just such a pretty little thing.

    Judi,

I'm pretty sure the nursery(ies), that both Home Depot and Amazon relay their online orders to are in Texas. San Antonio turns up on a tracking search as the origin point. Therefore, if my thoughts are on target, you, as a purchaser who lives closer to San Antonio will be prone to get your rose quicker. The weather also has a lot to do with a successful shipping. So quicker/closer means a fresher rose upon unboxing. Judi, I think your closer location to the grower has helped you get fresher stock than Kristine.

Oh also, transit routes also have a part in how quickly roses are received. The more transfers from one truck to another, the circuitous routes some folks are stuck with for home deliveries because of their locations, and let's not forget over weekend delays all contribute to a fresh, uninjured rose order arriving or a dead/badly withered rose, as in Kristine's True Love case.

Costco might also be a good place to check for Ping Lim’s roses. My local Costco had ’True Everything’ over the summer!

Wow, Ben, that color is amazing! How Gorgeous! I live within 15 mins of San Antonio if not less depending on the city limit being measured and I know my HD rose didn't come from SA. Will have to check. Also my plant was in fantastic condition, as was my sister’s but both mislabeled so my concern is more to the point of accuracy of plant versus condition on arrival. I would rather pay more as I’ve already had to return one plant. I suppose if they had a True Inspiration in store that I could lay eyes on that would be a great stroke of luck but sadly I never seem to see that particular one locally. Sometimes that is the fun of it

I don’t have a Costco membership but I want the ”Costco Greenhouse” and maybe also some plants too 😆

I did end up finding True Inspiration at Home Depot in person. It was in bloom at the store which was awesome because I knew it wasnt mislabeled. When I had mine shipped directly from Altman, they looked exactly like yours SD Shine, very healthy. A lot of other vendors seem to trim the canes more and defoliate their potted roses for shipping (Heirloom).

I ordered true gratitude and true perfume to try. The “ true bliss “ is also looking pretty ! Anyone have that one ?

    Kitty,

I hope you are successful beyond your expectations. Please keep,us posted.

BTW, I have True Devotion, sent to me in error from Home Depot. It was supposed to be my second True Inspiration. I like the first one so much. This True Devotion came grafted, which surprised me quite a bit. The pale pink bloom is packed with petals, and the fragrance is intense. The blooms came during continuous days of 90+° daytime highs, and were not faring too well. Short flower life and wilting were regular events, so time will tell if True Devotion is a keeper.

    Moses.
