Pruning Mock Orange and Transplanting Hardy Hibiscus

last modified: 8 months ago

We are in zone 5 near Toronto Canada and acquired two new plants year we know little about.

Question #1 re: Mock Orange, when and how should we prune it ? This plant was small but grew well. I had expected it to grow tall, like a little tree or bush, but surprisingly it grew long branches near the ground.. How should it look? Should I prune it now or in spring, and how?

Question # 2.We planted 2 hardy hibiscus near each other. One received more sun and bloomed considerably earlier than the other one that was in the shadow of a Rose of Sharon and a spirea... We want to give this one a better sunnier location. When is a good time to transplant it? I know it will die down completely and pop up quite late in spring.

I have tried posting pictures, but the page just keeps getting stuck... I will try again later.

Reduced pics, tried on a different computer, still not posting...
