Icebreaker on Firma
The 1st Icebreaker I got I killed in less than 1 season - it was a larger sized plant.
I dunno if it was from the grower or just didn't transplant well. It was not on Firma
Second time, I decided to order it in Firma Rootstock in a 1G. It would lessen the pain of losing $$ with the smaller plant and Firma was only available in this size.
It's been 2 seasons and has taken on some growth. Larger than when received but it's very very slow growth.....
Off topic or on topic on conifers, but the root development of it also seems slow. Is this mainly due to the cultivar it is mated too ?
I would say the overall head size has doubled in width since I have received it and I see it growing....was just curious as I noticed it's roots, while developed into a decent rootball, it was not nearly as long as I kinda was expecting. It was in a 7G pot. I upsized it to a 15G.
