I had a home improvement today, too

No sconces or art for me but I had an old pergola replaced. Still needs some finishing touches and to be stained, but Im happy. The siding needs to be power washed, along with a hundred billion other things.

Nice work and fresh looking. I bet you'll really love every time you drive up to your house.

I haven't any home improvements but I did get a new car battery.

Salonva, I got a new battery three weeks ago. Costco. Not going far without it.

Love it. Do you trail a vine over it?

It looks great! I know it was probably bothering you for months, if not years.

Yes, it was truly bothering me for years. The old one was looking just awful. This is still looking kind of ”new” ( which it is) and will fit in better once its been there for a while.

Looks great ded! We have a pergola over our patio, with a shade top. We love it!

ded, we have a pergola that needs some work, and yours looks great. Can you tell me who did yours?

Two thumbs up, dedtired! Doesn't it feel good to cross something off your list? (I vaguely remember what that is like)

Looks great. I got new hardwood floors last month, and recently set up Philips Hue smart bulbs around the house. Alexa! Turn on Bedroom 1 at 75%! I want to say, thank you, but she doesn't care.

I just love pergolas. They add so much charm to a home.

    Pretty! I love pergolas too.

I thought I was having home improvement yesterday, but it didn't happen. Sigh. I did, however, get my drawer microwave repaired on Wed., which is thrilling.

Very nice! I've always wanted a pergola with climbing vines or roses.

I'm another one having home improvement FOMO! I shouldn't complain because we did our primary bath this year. The biggest most expensive way over budget home improvement we've ever done. But that was months ago and I'm ready for more! If only my bank account agreed with me.

Congrats on your new pergola! Do you have a sitting area underneath it? I really miss the one we had at last home. I didn't know there were less invasive Trumpet creepers. I tried climbing roses but they just didn't do well. Then we made the mistake of planting the wrong Trumpet vine and then spent years trying to get rid of it.

We discussed a pergola for this home but ended up with a retractable awning on the patio instead.

This is the year we're improving our place in PA - last month was a new roof, this month our landscaper is removing trees and stumps from behind the house and next month the security system is getting updated. While all of that is important and necessary it sure isn't anything to get excited over.

Bookwoman, it was made by Deen at Surrounded By Stone and installed by his worker Antonio. i hired them to repair my brick patio and walkway and happened to mention that the pergola needed repair. Deen mentioned that he does woodwork. They did such a great job on both projects, lots of attention to detail,

. Evidently Antonio is a wonderful cabinet maker, too.

Maire, i could have sworn I read about a non invasive trumpet vine but now I cant find it so I must have dreamed it. I think I will look for something else that is guaranteed noninvasive. The pergol connects the garage to the house and has a short walkway underneath.

It still surprises me whenever i see it since I am so used to seeing the old rickety one..

Very nice! Love the idea of a Trumpet Vine, this is my first house without one, a favorite of mine.
