Design and layout of living room

I’m looking to give our living room a face lift starting with a new couch/ layout.

Initial thought is to have banquette seating in the bay windows with a small table and two chairs.

Then, get a new couch where the current one is. Thinking of the Radley from Macys with the chase (on the side of the bay windows).

Any other suggestions on utilizing the bay window space?

Thoughts on the Radley couch in this space? Should we go with the Chase versus another configuration to break up the room?

All suggestions welcome- thanks!

    Hi Karla,

It sounds like you're on the right track with your plan for the living room! Here are some thoughts on your layout and couch choice:

    1. Bay window seating: The idea of adding banquette seating to the bay windows is fantastic. Not only will it create a cozy nook, but it also makes great use of the space. You could consider adding built-in storage underneath the seats or using plush cushions to enhance the comfort. If the window gets a lot of light, light fabrics would keep it airy and fresh, but dark tones could create a cozy retreat.
    2. Radley couch: The Radley with a chaise is a solid option, especially if you're looking for a modern, sleek look. A chaise can add a bit of separation in the space, but if you're concerned about breaking up the room too much, you could also opt for a sofa with clean lines and no chaise. It all depends on how open you want the space to feel. The chaise would work well in a larger room or if you're aiming to create a more defined seating area, but in a smaller space, a traditional couch could keep things feeling more open.
    3. Breaking up the space: If you're using the banquette seating in the bay window area, the sofa placement could define the flow of the room. If the room feels a bit too open, consider introducing a soft rug or a console table to add a visual divide without blocking the sight lines.
    4. Additional ideas for the bay window: Beyond seating, you could incorporate a small bar cart, plants, or even a statement lamp to add personality. If you enjoy reading or want a space to relax, you could even turn it into a small library nook with a comfy chair and some shelves.

    Thank you, Carole!

Would you have any recommendations on what to do on the opposite side of the room from the bay windows?

Another couch/seating? We also have an infant, so storage for toys is important.
