Fashion talk: post an outfit that is “you”

Bbtx made me do it. 😆

We have shared lots of outfits and quests for oufits. What is your go-to style? Can you post a pic of your most ”you” outfit, either actually you or a model, or even separate pieces to make an outfit?

I will look later to find a picture of a person in a go-to ”me” style, but this is what I wore for Christmas day (casual, family only at our house). PS the sweater is cashmere from Banana Republic to elevate my t-shirt and jeans LOL.

I guess I dress like a 10 year old boy?

Today’s outfit for a casual lunch with friends: slim jeans, red sweatshirt with rhinestone buttons (to satisfy the magpie in my soul); J Crew field shoes

If it’s not summer I rarely wear anything other than jeans (blue or black) and a sweater or sweatshirt or golf clothes. I’m hoping we don’t have to dress up for the Austin GTG.

Kswl, your ”around the house” outfit is my out on the town outfit. You look great in all your outfits!

Today, I have not left the house. Here’s a look down at my oversized gray sweatshirt and my darker gray sweatpants.

I am glad to hear others say they hate wearing real clothes!

Bbstx, I have your sweatshirt in the dress length version. I wore it several times last year during the holiday season and will probably wear it with tights and Mary Janes to a friend’s drop-in afternoon on New Year’s day . It is so so comfy!

Casual at home, but my going out clothes would be most like this. I will say my spurs aren’t as big as hers, though. She's just showing off with those rock grinders.

@bbstx i love that (red) sweater.

I looked breifly thru my phone, to confirm that my go-to for double date nights is a white or blue button down, with a scarf or jacket and jeans.

My office look is usually one of several types of black jacket or sometimes a b/w striped jacket but I also have a beloved vintage Halston jacket that is an oversized nubby cream and tan plaid.

Around the house, black yoga pants and a 3/4 zip

Oooh Spanish, is that a black jumpsuit in the second to last picture?? Very nice! Love the red and pink plaid, that is such a great combination, and of course your canine accessory is the best 🐾 (those are clapping paws btw ) And I may be biased but the bangs are CUTE!

    Sueb20 thanked Kswl

    I like the bangs, too,

    last modified: 11 months ago

@Kswl not a jumpsuit. Just a t-shirt with St. John wool pants and a vintage Chanel belt.

I’m short-waisted. Jumpsuits are hilarious in me. The crotch usually hovers around my knees!

adding… thanks for the conplements about bangs. Got tired of trying to keeping them appropriately trimmed.

@Kswl, I have not seen the red sweatshirt in a dress length. How fun!

The buttons on the dress are gold snaps, so no sparkle :(

    Some cute outfits!

I am not, and never have been, a clothes person. If we are home and no one is coming over, I am usually in comfy pajamas and a sports bra. For the most part, my pajamas are solid long pants and LS t-shirts, unless it's cold then I have very soft sets with buttons and collar LS.

I still "dress up" sometimes, and it's only considered "dress up" because tourist are wearing beach clothes or vacation wear. For summer, it's a cool top and linen pants. This was my favorite shirt last summer.

Note: The photos I was able to drag off my orders would not show, even exporting. So I had to do screenshots which are pixeled... but you get the idea.

Recently wore this for the first time, with straight leg jeans and a new necklace. It's very soft. I also purchased an open jacket in a similar fabric from same company.

This is a favorite, and I ended up order another NWT on eBay because I like it so much. Sleeves rolled up when warm, can be down when cooler. It's a gauze split hem tunic, which I like for the back coverage and length. I also like its good for layering necklaces.

More casual and thicker for cooler days. Has a hoodie, which I don't normally want, but I have several pull overs with them.

The majority of my clothing is blue, teal or in that range. I have and recently did branch out and add more color. But if I don't feel comfortable in it, I end up not wearing and donating. So now, I just try to buy what I like and know I'll wear instead of dressing others. :D

I have a favorite pair of sandals for summer, and ignore the others. For winter a dark brown leather ankle boot.

Is that second top made of velvet Allison? It drapes beautifully and the color is lovely.

I like tunics a lot too. I went thru about a 10yr period where 80% of my tops were tunics, and then I got tired of it on me. Love that pleated floral one.

I love being able to find things NWT!

PS So i kept looking on J Crew, and the jacket mysteriously appeared around 2am (my girls and their friends and I were up having a "slumber party" past 3am last night). So now I have one from them and one from Anthro on the way. Funny thing is there is a good chance I will try them on, decide "what was I thinking," and send both back. But I was not to be thwarted.

”Not to be thwarted” ….. !!!!

I aspire to be these women, who are all basically wearing jeans and t-shirt, which becomes so much more with the addition of a cardigan and scarf.

We have a family outing this afternoon and I am literally wearing jeans, long sleeved green tee, and a cute wool cardigan (purchased in Denmark which makes it extra cool). I’m going to add a scarf and see if I can make it work. I have several scarves but never wear them.

In our casual resort town I pretty much live in jeans or leggings. Either boot cut or skinny jeans-wide legs don’t work on me.

This is me today for a home day and a few errands (might have to change into boots for errands though)

These are other options in my closet.

This is me on a travel day. Black jeans, black boucle lady jacket-sweater, black 3/4 sleeve tee; my J. Crew field shoes. Gold hoops. Scarf tucked in carry-on, just in case.

around the house is usually my Vuori sweats or woolx leggings and a cashmere sweater. Sometimes they are old with holes, but still my go tos.

    Errands- same, or sometimes jeans.

Right now my favorite dinner or dressing up outfit is a slip skirt with a more fitted cashmere sweater. Super exciting over here!

Full disclosure- today I’ve been working all day from home, and I put on my fleece sweats that are about two sizes too large and a giant fleece shirt jacket thing over my night shirt. It’s a look.

I have so many scarves I had to cull them, but adore this and might try to copy it- where is it from. My coloring (and nothing else) is similar.

@Kswl it is not velvet, but double layer cotton gauze, 100% cotton. LINK

Thank you, Mtn. I liked it so much I ordered a second one. I do that quite often. :D Congrats on your jacket finds, and hope one works out for you. I searched eBay and there are a LOT of JCrew leopard jackets, coats and sweaters. They must make several a year.

Mtn, that was from Pinterest, no real info provided.

I am so not into fashion. I‘m all about comfort. My at home attire, are maxi loungers, with a black hoodie if its cold:

I just ordered two more in blue.

    My running errands outfit:

My hair is usually up in a jaw clip. I like a messy bun. I seem to gravitate towards blue and black. I might need to expand my color choices.

If I must leave the house I will have on a t-shirt and shorts in the summer (T shirt will be from "The Mountain" and jersey shorts will be from "Fresh Produce"

In the winter it will be a hoodie from "The Mountain" and sweatpants from LL Bean.

On days that I am not leaving the house I stay in PJs or lounge wear.

The only time I do something different is when I go to a wedding or funeral.

Once a uniform, always a uniform 👍 Khakis and a blue shirt of some sort is DH’s uniform as well, Pal. No decisions required😁

Thank you Allison, I forgot you’d moved to Florida… gauze makes much more sense than velvet🤔

Mojomom love your matching Converse sneaks and turtleneck—-you look great! Also admiring your closet and shoe storage, it looks perfect.

This is pretty much my OOTD for the last couple of days. I came back from our President’s Day break sick with a terrible cold. I’m at DD’s. I keep a few things at her house ”just in case.” I’m wearing a lovely ”gimme” robe from Ulta, a pair of flannel PJs from the Old Navy sale (they are whatever the cheapest pattern was), and a pair of Lands’ End shearling slippers that are on their last leg. Only the dog is allowed in the room with me - for obvious reasons but also because I would scare the bejeebus out of anyone who saw me.

Oh BB, sorry you arent feeling well. I was sooo sick for three weeks after our GTG. I felt well for two days and then woke up coughing, hackng and body aches. It was awful. I wore my crumby bathrobe all day.

    Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Bbstx I am sorry to hear you’re down with a bad cold and hope you are restored to health asap.

Bbstx - what a bummer! Hope you're feeling better soon. Sadly, your current "recovery outfit" sounds like an average Monday morning laundry day outfit for me. Take care :)

Thanks, everyone, for your get well wishes. I’m feeling marginally better every day.

Rubyclaire, but for my sister, you may be the only person I know with a regular laundry day. Sister washes sheets and towels on Monday. I follow the guidance of a friend: If I have a clean cocktail dress to wear to the grocery, I can put off laundry for a nother couple of days

It's a loose schedule and a holdover from my days as a stay-at-home mom and Monday's were jammie and laundry days. I love the guidance you follow from your friend and may have to adopt that now!
