What furniture design color should I go with for my bedroom?

I am designing my new apartment (my first owned home). I need the space to be modern yet cozy and welcoming. I haven’t been able to decide on the furniture color for my bedroom. First picture shows the actual bedroom photo and the second is the 2D design view of the room. I have uploaded a rendered design by the interior designer. The suggested furniture color by her was light brown shade. To me it looks too basic and not “homie.” I have decided to get a separate bed by Pierre Cardin (4th photo) and will design the rest of the furniture and colors around it. The carpenter is designing a wardrobe, vanity corner and a nightstand- mainly MDF and ballon press wood. I haven’t been able to decide on the wood color. Any suggestion/ideas are highly appreciated! :)

The Cardin bed is not what I would call homey, cool yes homey no. I almost always start a bedroom decor with bedding I love and colors I love . I can see your bed with some light wood night tables and some colored bedding you love .I see no idea books so we are in the dark about what you love . Do you like prints or plains ? Waht style do you gravitate toward? I assume you are not in NA since oyu are having a wardrobe built . \, maybe post a pic of that styel for a bit of hint . I love gray bedrooms so this is one inspo pic that I think is beautiful Is this kind of what you like style wise? I like the headborad you chose but rooms are put together from many things that work together . So a plan is a must and you then share that with us.

The light colored wood is what's popular right now, which is probably why the designer is suggesting it. The style of the wood furniture shown doesn't go with the upholstered bed you're showing. Is the first picture just to show us the color you're considering, or are those the actual pieces you're considering as well?

Yes, pale European Oak tones are popular and attractive. I'd start by exploring your flooring options for refinishing if its engineered hardwood.

The light wood shown in your first picture is too yellow. Keep looking.

I'd be searching out a mattress with latex foam and pocketed coil springs as construction elements. A source depends on your location. if you want to go for a mattress with tech, Elon's mom is the brand ambassador for AISE Baobao. Sleemon is the manufacturer of their massaging mattress. I'd change the window trim to match the new lighter floor or paint it some relaxing complimentary tone.

I think your designer missed the mark on what you're going for based on the bed. Room color, bedding color, drapes and a rug will set the tone for the space. Consider doing a mood board with the things you love that can be pulled together for your space.

You want modern/warm, but the headboard will dictate all of your decisions. I don’t see it adding warmth and given the room’s size, I think it will overwhelm the room and believe it’s putting the cart before the horse. Suggest focussing on the most important decision: the custom furniture (design and size). If you haven’t already looked/defined inspiration rooms that resonate with you, I’d find/share them with your designer. (Here are examples of warm/modern/low headboards, letting the wall treatment and/or art be the more interesting focal point).

Ask they provide you with to-scale mock up renditions with headboards and color combos, so you can finalize the furniture. What has the carpenter been provided with so far? Also suggest that you wait until your furniture is in place before finalizing the remaining decisions.

The PC bed is way too high for those low nightstands.

Thank you so much for all the tips and advices. The pictures I have shared are mainly to show the size and layout of the bedroom- I won’t necessarily follow the designer’s suggested layout. The headboard I picked was inspired by some designs I have found for small bedrooms on Pinterest (see below). I like light colors e.g. light grey, creme, white and beige.

My concern is the color of the wardrobe (200cmx240cmx60cm) since it will dictate the room. I was thinking of light wardrobe color (see the samples below white and pickled white). The night stand and dressing table can be darker shades i.e. golden oak, neutral or even brown.
