A lovely focus for this past week

I’ve very much enjoyed hearing old interviews with Jimmy Carter as well as recollections and excerpts from his writings. I was sorry to get out of my car earlier having to leave a beautiful conversation between Terry Gross, Mr Carter, and Amy Carter.

What a welcome opportunity for us to look inside ourselves and perhaps re-energize our goals and actions using his energy as a guide.

I loved this column about him in the NYT. He had a remarkable life and seemed so kind and humble.

He was a truly remarkable person, and unprecedented among presidents in modern history for his humility, faith, and his hands on, post-presidency work for the betterment of his community, our country and the world.

It is such fortunate timing to be examining a model of excellence right now in order to see a path forward. Possibilities of hope. A TED talk today espoused hope accompanied by skepticism rather than cynicism or simply optimism.
