Furniture Layout for an Apartment Living Room with a Corner Fireplace

I would appreciate some help with furniture layout ideas for my room. There is a corner fireplace with shelf space above it where I plan to place the TV. I'm struggling with arranging the furniture in the space, as I will be buying all new pieces. Thank you for any ideas!

May we have more pictures of the room as well as measurements?

pretty high for TV placement. recommended centered eye level for pleasing look and viewing.

I think the only reasonable location for the TV is above the fireplace.

Here is one possible arrangement that could work for the room.

The photo you have doesn't match the floor plan, so I would confirm sizes.

This is what your photo illustrates. It's different than the plan posted.

You can select a bracket that allows the TV to drop down in front of the fireplace for the correct height.

If you are mostly watching at night, I'd put it on a low credenza in front of the window. (At night, it won't be back lit.) The fireplace is much too high for comfortable watching and I don't think it will look too attractive there.

Beverly's furniture layout is great (as usual!). You could put some plants above the fireplace.

Here are some examples of TVs in front of windows. The correct window treatments really help.

Thanks so much for your input! I really appreciate it, and I will definitely consider the other ideas for the TV placement. I’m sharing a few more pictures of the living room.

Here is another option since you have a high window in the Living Room, it is the perfect spot for the TV. You don't see the screen upon entering from the front door which is a plus in my book. And you can watch TV while munching at the Dining table...another plus.

We have a sofa perpendicular to the TV and I find myself stretching out to watch...very comfy. The two swivel chairs can also face the fireplace.

This is a rough concept sketch, I did not measure anything.

Oops I just noticed you don't have a recessed bay window so get a low sofa to place against the wall under the window, and the other pieces remain the same as my sketch.

We're trying all options,so.... I'd acknowledge the need to block the view of the neighboring house with floor length drapes. Now you have an excellent location for a low shallow tv console of even a 77" tv. The drapes can be open for light when no one is watching tv. Even powered to make it easy. The room can then accept a sectional with chaise and ottomans sized for your family group. A couple deep 48" seat cushion couches could also work. Choose the deep cushion option for the sectional also.

I think the TV should fit underneath the high window. 12'11" wall.

I just meaasured the top of our TV screen at 63" from the floor and it's good so hopefully the bottom of your window is about that.

If you're getting furniture, get a TV cabinet with sides to block the side view of the TV from the front door as you enter.

I’m not a designer but I have no problem with a diagonally placed sofa facing the fireplace.

Yes, but to watch TV from the Dining table is a must for me. Maybe even consider a counter height table and chairs to see the TV over the heads of those seated in the Living room.

Just trying to think outside the box for ideas for the new furniture.

I'm not a designer either but we do design our own spaces so just speaking from experience. We have a counter height table for instance and love it.
