White Dove Kitchen Cabinets, Shiplap wall, what color white?

I have an open concept living room and kitchen with two story walls. The kitchen cabinets are Dove White and they are up against another white color (I have no idea) that has shiplap all the way to the roof line. You can definitely see a difference between the two white colors. Should I change the shiplap to also be Dove White or will the cabinets not stand out?

White Dove next to the white of the Houzz website stands out. So, it depends on the white. Which you can get BM to tell you more about by taking a shiplap sample into a store tech to analyze. That person can then advise you about options. I'd change the shiplap color. It's also important to determine your lighting. That'll affect how the colors look in your space.

This is one listed complimentary color.

I would not be happy with that combination, it makes your cabinets look yellow and old.

I think I would paint the cabinets a whiter white or a totally different color. The white Dove also looks very yellow next to your gray backsplash.

You could either paint the shiplap Dove White to eliminate the contrast or (my choice) pull a darker color out of the backsplash that works with Dove White and do that for the shiplap if that works with the adjacent room. If there's no clean way to transition and you don't want a color in the other room, then just the Dove White. Everything will look very different without the starker white in the mix—whites are weird that way.

Thank you all. I was leaning towards painting shiplap and contrasting walls white dove to match the cabinets. i agree the cabinets do look more yellow against the shiplap and i have seen many pics of white dove and it doesnt pull yellow at all so it has to be the brighter white walls.

No, White Dove is definitely yellow!

Lots of posts here with the heading "Help, my White Dove looks bright yellow"!

Yes, it will look less yellow when there is no other brighter white to compare it too, but it is still a yellow-white.

Here is my BM Chantilly Lace trim with BM White Dove walls.

Pretty sure my shiplap is chantilly lace. ugh what to do…i could just paint the cabinets but then i worry they might be too white uo against the stained cabinet

Also remember that White Dove and Dove White are different colors. It's important to know which you have. White Dove is a Benjamin Moore color. Dove White is PPG (and maybe others), and then there's Dover White, which is Sherwin Williams. All quite different whites.

yes cabinets are Dove White. so my mistake saying to paint the walls White Dove

But its not PPG because that is purple ish tint. maybe the kitchen designer years ago said Dove White but meant White Dove. I truly have no jdea but the cabinets are a creamy white.

Yes the kitchen remodel was done probably 8 years ago so it's probably a different Dove White now vs. then. Very confusing:-) Thanks for your help!!

If you can change the White Dove, hurray.
