Can you hide ceiling fan wiring running on top of concrete walls?

We're in the process of renovating a condo (in Hawaii) that's like a concrete box. Floors, ceilings and interior walls are all concrete.

We need to install ceiling fans (with integrated lights) in two bedrooms and have gone around and around with our electrician to come up with a way to make the wiring for those fans less visible. His only solution is to run them up the wall and across the ceiling and then to paint over the electrical wiring. It will be the first thing I see when walking into the bedrooms and I know that I will not enjoy looking at that. :-)

Are there any creative ways to hide the wiring? Would shiplap wood wall paneling work? Would it be odd to have that type of paneling run up the wall behind where the bed will be (on the right) and then across the ceiling? I've seen that in photos online with high ceilings but our ceilings are rather low.

you can install furring strips and then add 1/4" Th drywall over the entire ceiling to hide the wires.

I've seen shallow coffer beams to hide the wires

you can float a panel on the ceiling to hide most of the wires, (but not all)

The real answer is to drop the ceiling enough to run the wiring but it will still need to be up the wall from where the elecrtrical is so make that area modtly hidden with head board and some art above the headboard or if you ar elucky the conduit run up beside the drapes in the space but the ceiling is not a big deal once it is dropped a bit and in a bedroom a bit lower ceiling is not a big deal The big issue is to make sure the fans can be attached well in the ceiling so that will be the big issue . Integrsted lighting weighs nothing really but a fan a different storey I would probably get some nice Dyson floor fans

I was thinking about nixing the entire ceiling fan project and getting Dyson floor fans instead! Less headache, less costly and they look way better. :-) Thank you, Patricia, for recommending that as well!

They make cord covers for wall sconces and ceiling fans, etc. that can be painted. A floor fan does not have the same circulation as a ceiling fan. There are efficient low profile ceiling fans available.

And/or then for the ceiling a faux beam for wires and fan.

Your walls are not concrete. There's space inside the wall to fish the wires up to the ceiling. It's just because the ceiling is concrete that you have to be creative to hide the wires on the ceiling.
