I may have had this same problem with my maytag dryer during covid and found a youtube video that walked me through it. Try searching there.

"thermo switch" ... what does that reference specifically?

There's a thermal fuse on the blower housing that makes the machine non-functional if it blows. It's a safety backup for the thermostat there that controls the drying temperature. Both should be replaced if the fuse blows.

You can see the thermal fuse as part #33 on the bulkhead parts diagram. Less than $5 on Amazon. There's also a high-limit thermostat, part #43 on the same diagram ($10 on Amazon).

Just for your reference, the full model number includes a numeral at the end. It's the engineering revision and is relevant to correct replacement parts. There are two revisions for your model, 0 and 1. The thermostats and thermal cut-off fuse are the same. The timer is different in case it's the source of your problem.

Presumably you've confirmed the drum belt isn't broken? There's a safety switch that prevents the machine from running if the belt breaks.
