Looks great! My husband is from Maine.

Sheila, they have a line of products: Coast of Maine. Their secret ingredient is kelp meal. I’ve also used one of their blends specifically for roses. Not all their products are always available locally, so Amazon delivery is very convenient and offers a great price. I’m also using this particular product for my seedlings—it’s very fine.

That’s wonderful Elena ! I bet it’s so nice to get it delivered. especially when you fond something you love !

I had been meaning to make a post and I hope you don’t mind if I piggy back onto yours ..

for Christmas my mom gave me this awesome set of battery pruners . They are super powerful ( it scares me lol ! ) but man they make light work of the pruning. Of course you could actually lose a finger if you don’t pay attention. But anyway , I wanted to share . I charged the first battery and used them for over 3 hours with no loss of power .

To be safe they do shut down when you stop using them for a few min , and then you have to press the trigger a few times to get them activated again .

I take the battery out when I am finished and keep them out of reach when I’m done. They easily pruned canes over an inch thick . I’d imagine a finger would be no problem 🫣😥. honestly they make me nervous but i try to take my time with them .

One neat thing is I could dig them underground and prune down the darn Dr Huey that keeps popping out of my roses. I hope that helps stop him .

I noticed amazon has a few versions of these and often has them on lightning deals too !

Thank you for sharing, Lily! That sounds like a great product! I’m crazy about all pruning and cutting tools. I even have a trimmer that’s so sharp, you could easily cut your hand with it. 😊

I hope we can use this space to share recommendations for different gardening products!

@elenazone6 Have you ever used FoxFarms ocean forest or happy frog putting potting soil? if so, how do they compare for you? I use ocean forest for all my potted plants.

SD Shine, I haven’t used the potting soil products you mentioned, but from my research, I recall them being highly recommended.

I started with Coast of Maine for my petunias, and they bloomed like crazy!

@elenazone6 FoxFarm is fantastic stuff, but SO expensive. I'd like to find a more affordable option.

    Electric Pruner? Great idea!
There used to be a band called The Electric Prunes … late 60s … not sure what their big hit was.
Just looked it up — “I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night” … TomPetty did a great cover of it.
At any rate, maybe I’ll get one of these next year.

I'll stick with my wonderful Japanese steel hand pruners which I've used for years, and just keep on going on Diane hand power. Diane
