Hi all .. I am definitely feeling much better but not back to full health. I am eating but not really watching my calories-- I have had little appetite so I have been eating what sounds good. That is going to change this week. I lost 15 lb through the first 2 weeks-- I was dehydrated and I didnt eat much of anything the first 2 weeks and that's not a good way to lose weight. I have regained about half of the lbs so it is time to get back to healthy eating. My appetite is not fully back but it is back enough to be more thoughtful about what I am eating.

I am going to start putting more focus on fish, shellfish and meatless dishes. My goal is 4 meatless days a week and 1-2 fish/shellfish dishes. I think that is very doable.

I do need to increase my exercise but that will be a focus in the weeks to come. I am still recovering and very tired/sleeping lots.

How are you all doing? Do you have any new goals?

I’m glad you’re feeling better Funky!

It was a pretty low key week for me, but I finally did do my colonoscopy. That was the last big preventative testing I needed done, so I’m very happy to have that completed! and all clear!

The weather should be warmer next week, so my goal is to get outside more and hopefully do some long walks to make up for all this inside time I’ve had lately.

Funky, I'm sorry you've been sick! I have been busy and haven't had the time to check in on these threads lately. I am glad you're starting to feel better and hope you're back to normal soon.

My health and fitness dedication has unfortunately been a bit of a victim of being too busy. Traveling for work and a quick weekend trip meant I wasn't really able to follow my normal exercise routine for a few days. Hosted a few get togethers that resulted in probably too much eating and certainly more alcohol consumption than normal. Work has been very busy with lots of late nights trying to prepare for end of year reviews and budget.

Finally my husband and I found a house outside of the city that we are very interested in. It's been on the market for a while so we are working with our realtors to get ready to try to make an offer contingent on selling our home. Which means I am frantically trying to get the house ready for sale. De-cluttering and cleaning and touching up. Things like re-caulking showers and touching up cabinets (myself) and repairing some carpet (hired a professional) and right now the carpets are being cleaned. It's been exhausting. The house in general is in good shape and generally clean, but we want to really make it shine before we take photos and list. Needless to say I'm stressed out and tired. And of course there's staging and the inevitable dread-inducing showings where we'll be frantically scrambling to vacuum up dog hair, hide toothbrushes, and generally make the place look like a showroom.

In the meantime, I will get whatever exercise I can and eat the best I am able at this time. With some luck I won't set myself back too far. I am doing better than I have most years at recognizing when my pants feel a little more snug than usual and doing something about it, rather than just ignoring it until it becomes a problem.

Hi, everyone, I had an outstanding time in Austin with the Texas GTG. That was really good for my overall well-being. I NEEDED something like that. Wish it was a little warmer, but oh well. I got a guest pass to Equinox gym, so I got to go to a chi-chi gym. I wasn't able to do the barre class but I did the treadmill and most importantly, weights. Then I saw the women coming out of the barre class, and everyone was like out of a magazine. I think I saw one other guy in my age range. Then I caught my flight home, met up and shared the Uber ride to the airport with JoJo. I was concerned with our tasting menu that I might have trouble with that, but it wasn't too much food. They served family style so I could take what I wanted and pace myself.

I think I need to add another day of resistance training to go to 3 days plus 2 days Pilates. My last BodPod I need to work on lean body mass. So, I guess this is what I have to do. I also signed up for virtual Zumba today.

Salmon in parchment for dinner tonight, one of my favorite meals.

I lost 7lbs with the flu, gained 3 lbs after the flu...water weight. I still need to focus on losing my stomach. The new red Dolphin brand swim suit is calling my name, but it squishes my back...looks a mess! I just don't look slender unless I'm wearing clothes. I'm small boned. Any extra weight is easy to cover up with clothes....take the clothes off....a mess!

I don't mean to be gross.....but....saw a woman in the gym shower with a weird hair cut down-there. It was a thin rectangle. Apparently it's a Brazilian Wax Technique.....learn something new every day. Link Anyone ever tried one of these? Oh...and it's called a Brazilian.

Funky, I'm glad you're feeling better, and my best wishes for your continued recovery.

I had a fever last weekend, and spent the early days of this week recovering. My sleep and eating have been good, and I went back to the gym this morning. So far, I've lost about half the weight I gained over the holidays, and every morning, I question whether all the egg nog was really worth it.

It does feel good to be back at my healthy eating patterns. Lots of protein and vegetables, very little sugar.

And even better, I can feel the days getting longer... we've still got dreary months ahead, but I'm glad January is in the rear view mirror.
