I can finally log in on the iPad again. Not sure what happened but I was stuck with either PC or phone, and the phone is not my favorite at all. About to head out to the Y to lift. I did get in an extra resistance training.

Feeling a little burnt out on dinner choices. We had salmon this week and burgers. DH brought some leftover Panera from work, so we’ve been finishing that all weekend. Just a busy week now that school has started and I’ve got to do some grading today. Hoping to get some closet cleaning done but not super optimistic on that.

I will see the weight management doctor the following week.

The weather is supposed to be excellent this week, finally, and I can take Mustang out for a few rides.

We’re headed out of town this week to sunny weather so I’m hoping that motivates me to be more active. I’ve definitely been in a winter slump as far as movement and exercise, although I have done “something” most days.

Mostly I’m looking to get off my phone and away from the news. I haven’t had anxiety issues in a long while, but the combination of no real exercise and the overwhelming news cycle has put me over the edge. My mental healthy lifestyle needs a reset as well. We’re flying and DS is flying separately, so we just need to get there and then I can enjoy the sunshine and warmth! I also haven’t been a nervous flier in years.

Hoping to play lots of pickleball and walk everywhere.

In good news I put on a CGM last week and I was pleasantly surprised that my meals and exercise were blood sugar friendly and I was doing well in that regard.

I'm in the midst of the winter doldrums, but using it as fuel to get back to the gym. I have this love/hate relationship with the gym because I hate lifting weights. But I'm loving it as an excuse to not let the winter make me lazy. I've been going 3-4x per week, and it makes me feel resilient. On days I don't go, I either get out for a long walk or do yoga and stretching. The prior 2 days I was at the gym, and so this evening, I bundled up and went for a 30-minute brisk walk, despite the wind and cold, and came home, dragged out the yoga mat, and stretched for a while.

My diet has been very good, too, and I'm back to focusing on vegetables and protein. I've cut out most sugar, other than naturally occurring in fruit and an occasional teaspoon of sugar in a salad dressing or marinade.

It's good to be back in my usual routine after the holidays, and a reminder that what I do *most* of the time is what counts.

I read these threads sporadically, have not done so in quite a while.

Funky- 11 lbs since December is stellar!

I've been playing with the same 5 ish lbs for as long as I can remember. It should really be more like 10 lbs but it seems to cut off at 5. So I did take off some f what I put on, but not enough.

I am good on the acitivity as I do walk and or take gym classes several times a week ( anywhere from 2 to 5 times). I have come to recognize that it's really my eating which is the problem. I am great until the evenings when I will really fall apart. I just have to address this.

I was hit with a miserable cold a week ago and with the bitter weather, I have stayed in a lot more than I usually do. thankfully my appetite has been pretty under control.

We have a somewhat active trip planned in another week so I'm trying to lay low a bit and get myself back to energetic.

I will enjoy myself but when we get back I 'll try to be more mndful.

I got back last week from a 3 week vacay including a 17 day cruise to Hawaii. Trip was amazing and I somehow managed to not gain any weight. DH gained 6 lbs. It's usually the other way around. But, I was more active on vacation than I typically am at home. A lot more walking. I try not to take the elevators as much as possible on the ship and use the stairs. We did a lot of walking around the towns, we hiked to some waterfalls and climbed Diamond Head. Also spent a couple days in San Diego before boarding and walked a lot there too including an all day trip to the zoo which was fantastic.

Then I come home and my daily steps went from 6-11k to almost nothing. So I decided to finally order a Peloton Treadmill. I've been thinking about it forever but didn't think I could fit it. Dawned on me how I could rearrange some things to fit it. It's coming on Monday. Looking forward to that.

I have been back on my Peloton bike too. And I'm making better snacking choices. The scale showed me down a little over a lb the other day since getting home, but now it's back where it was. Very frustrating.

In April, we are going to New Orleans for 5 days and will most likely be walking a lot every day. The tread will get me in better shape for that. I struggled a bit on the Diamond Head climb but I did make it to the top.

I need to get focused. I too just got back from a vacation. (Costa Rica) and my weight was at my highest when I left.

Heading down to our Flirida home where I will be out walking more and hopefully watching my diet closer.

I am really enjoying being well and having FINALLY healed from my two surgeries! It is such a relief and a very good warning to me that the Hashimoto’s has not only wreaked havoc with my metabolism but with all the processes, including cellular repair / healing.

The weather her has been simply fantastic and I am playing golf twice a week and having a golf lesson on alternate days. I am so active I’m falling asleep earlier— a mixed blessing as I’m also waking around 3 or 4 am and struggling to get back to sleep. Overall though I feel like I am back to my own normal, which has been a long time coming.

Socially February keeps us busy with Valentine’s Day (our anniversary dinner out and volunteering for the V party our church hosts for residents at an apartment complex we built for low income senior citizens),two events at the historical society, our Bishop’s visitation lunch and my nephew’s visit at the end of the month coinciding with our cocktail party. (He doesn’t know it but he is going to help me with it 😉) I do best mentally when I am busy and engaged so hopefully between all these events and golfing I will emerge from February ready for anything!

Funky, 11 lbs is a LOT more than people realize. I once saw several sacks of oranges that totalled 10 lbs …. mind blowing 🤯 You are doing WELL!
