This appears to be a Butterfly bush We have one but it doesn’t atract many butterflies as is claimed

It is a ligustrum. Birds love the fruit, but that contributes to the plant's being invasive. An invasive is a non-native plant that outcompetes native plants.

More specifically "tree privet", or "glossy privet" scientifically known as Ligustrum lucidum. Berries are toxic, but evidently not to birds, which spread the seed. Indeed, it is one of the most invasive plants in the world.
