No to the insane wood paneling trend. You have a lot of wood going on in here already. If you are having a problem with acoustics, add area rugs with rug pads under them, add long drapes on the ends of your curtain rod made of a heavy fabric like velvet.

To make the whole area look more full - pul the table away from the window. It is too crunched in. Add a large focal point piece of artwork on the left wall at the short side of your table. Add another piece of artwork above the plant area. You could more the circular object already on the wall to the area where the plants are and hang it lower.

I don't see where would be a good place to install wood panels in this space, I would rather work on the decor:

- Group all your plants on the white cabinet

- Remove the clock from the wall (relocate somewhere else in your home)

- Find a large canvas for the wall in the dining area

- Move the dining table centered with the ceiling light

- Install a chandelier over the table (find one for a sloped ceiling mount - install so the bottom of the chandelier is at 30 to 33 inches above the table

- Install curtains to the floor at each end of the window in the dining room

- Buy an area rug for the living room (legs of seating should all sit on the rug)

- Place coordinated accent pillow on the sofa

Those curtains on the windows are not very good. Select something more substantial for the ends even if they don't close.

Lighting is often an after thought, however, it's crucial for atmosphere and emotional comfort. A ceiling light is fine for the dining area, and put that on a dimmer. For the living area, get a table light or wall sconce in each corner at chest height. IMO if you want plants they need light so closer to the window for sure and open the window coverings . Much better lighting the one above the dining table needs to about 32" from bottom of fixture to table LED for sure I like 4000K but you can go as low as 3500K and still get good non yelowing light. Art for sure some floor lamp and table light also needed .No wood accent wall
