In every commercial kitchen I have worked in at least one person has a burn scar from a french door oven . I see no advantage in a home and they cost a fortune. I wish we could get the Neff oven but still not in NA the last time I checked . Just get a coould quality wall oven it functions just as well . and no cahnce of the door moving and burning you.

Agreed, used for decades in commercial kitchens where you are tossing full sized sheet pans in and out of the oven.. Athone with half size sheet pan max, a single door is much easier.

Love them. And so much easier to clean.

My son just installed a GE Monogram French door wall oven in his new kitchen. He loves it--it's easier getting pans in and out of than a pulldown oven door, especially if you are short like my daughter in law. I don't see why you would be more likely to burn yourself with a FD oven versus the pulldown door. It's easier to clean as well since you can get closer and have better leverage to clean the back.

You can also get a side-swing door (single door) oven. Thermador and Bosch each make a version. I love them.

Yes, a French door oven is absolutely the way to go (vs a drop-down door).
