These boxwoods cover half our sidewalk. need ideas, please?!

Simplest is replace with Baby Gem compact boxwood.

Box is very amenable to hard pruning. You could cut them down to low stumps and thereafter keep them regularly clipped. Cheaper than pulling them all out and buying new.

This look could be scaled to your space.

I agree with floral about cutting Boxwoods back (at least some of them) instead of removing and starting over. For low maintenance color three of my favorites in 8a Texas are Pinks,Lantana and Possumhaw Holly. All three are like the Energizer Bunny,they take Texas weather licking and keep on ticking.

After looking at pictures I'm more concerned about trees than anything else. That is mistletoe growing in trees at rear of house. It weakens trees, causes limbs to die and fall eventually kill the tree. If those are Hackberry trees all this will happen rapidly. My concern is whether they are close enough to fall on house during high wind like Texas experienced over last two weeks. What species is tree near front porch and does it have mistletoe? Permanently removing Mistletoe requires removing limb on which it grows. When limb is large and valuable to tree, the Mistletoe is clipped close as possible to limb which will kill it only 25% of time but at minimum sets growth of Mt back a few years where it can be controlled by clipping again.
