Any great ideas on what nightstands go w/ a cloud bed...I need them!

last year

What nightstands should I put with a cloud bed? I have a professionally decorated condo in downtown Scottsdale and I need to change out the bed because my husband has a rare sleep disorder and needs the mattress to be close to the floor. The bed style doesn't really go with the place, but safety has to come first. Pictured is the bed that is being delivered soon. Now I need to find nightstands that will look good with it and be easy to move away from the bed during the night. I would really appreciate ideas!

You can attach casters to the wooden legs of nightstands. Then you can roll them out of the way.

Can you design the room so that it will look good with a nightstand on only one side of the bed? Why would you want to move a nightstand every night and put it back there in the morning?

Casters are a great idea - I wonder if Room and Board would have some options that would work?

Oh boy, not keen on the bed surround that sticks out. It’s not hard to get very low platform beds where mattress is almost lined up with the platform.

I think as much as it is being a bit snooppy I need to know how that bed will be the answer I have aplatform bed with a frame that sticks out and every once in a while I still bump my shin . As for the night stands you can get small caster that are easy to install on the bottom to make the moving easier I would do a wall mounted light though

Thank you for your input! The platform is upholstered so it is another soft level to land on before reaching the floor.

Casters, poof, scounce and casters are all great ideas. Thanks!

Think twice before you buy that Cloud bed, with the mattress inset, that's a terrible trip hazzard that will probably be the opposite of the safety you are seeking. That ledge is unnatural and sure to cause a fall onto the floor. Just an FYI.

Wrong bed. If falling out is the issue, you need something with rails you can insert nightly. I'm sure we aren't understanding the issue, but that bed is not the answer.

Your best bet? Stop worrying on the pro decor.

Buy low profile box springs, cover them attractively, set them right on the floor, add the mattress. Put it against a fully upholstered headboard. Make certain there's a rug under all of it and large enough to accommodate a roll out. Forget about nightstands unless a rounded c shape as your photo above.

Nobody can seriously hurt themselves in a roll out from under 20 inches in height. Basically 5 -9 inches for a box and 12" for a mattress. You could still add a rail to that as well, between box spring and mattress. Lighting attached to the wall, not on the nightstand

I will add that bed you selected is a torture to make every morning and worse for sheet changes,

BTW? Toooo low isn't great for getting up and out in the morning.

If the disorder is something like RBD? I'd sleep separately: ) such as two twins.
