Drapery panels hung near the ceiling.

I have the temporary paper shades in the window now. I like the ideal of the side panels however my concern is that treatment to replace the paper shades, because of the full sun I get from sun rise till about noon. Biggest concern is fading

If the drapery panels are lined there will not be an issue with fading. If you select panels that are not lined there are lining panels that can be added on a drapery rod to protect the fabric.

Good suggestions from KYDISPLAY. I might suggest that you could add some sort of shade inside the window frames for light control and privacy. This could be cellular shades (not paper!), roller shades, or solar shades. Something that retracts and almost disappears when pulled all the way up. Then the curtain panels are just "dress" curtains, to soften the look of the room.
