Is there a brand and price point specified for your flooring in the building contract? If so, get sample boards in that brand and look at them against your other fixed elements. Don't distract yourself by considering the whole universe of flooring products. If you are doing site finished flooring the flooring contractor should be able to show you samples also.

Flooring trends flip flop back and forth between very light and very dark. At the moment, light is in. Your choice as to whether you want to stick with the trend. Pre-finished flooring is usually difficult to find in anything other than the currently trending colors. But if you're site finishing, a nice medium brown (without distracting undertones) is a good choice if you want to avoid trends.

Cold colors are done and over with. Find a warm wood flor that you can build an entire whole warm design around. Gray floors are just sad flipper ripouts.

Rip the fireplace stone, ( ice white and icy gray ) right now.

It's been done, done and over done, along with gray walls, which seem far tooooo cool for your cabinet finish selection. You not only have palette clash, you have style clash with whatever is happening alongside fire.

You dove whatever cabinetry, appears warmer than your interior swing doors, warmer than the fire.....and again....what is the surrounding area of fire planned to be? It needs nothing...and certainly not shaker whatever trim work.

You look and feel and palette are not jiving.

    ESPECIALLY this...style clash: )

Wood stains seem a little dark. Did the floor contractor not put down any mid-tone classic brown or lighter/near natural stains as samples? What wood is your flooring...white oak, red oak, something else?

Agree with Jan about the faux stacked ledger stone-that was a trendy add on about a decade ago and doesn't appear to relate to anything else in your transitional home. Rip and use sheet rock and lower the TV height considerably.

I agree there is a weird mismatch of both color tones and styles ( modern/ traditional). Colors especially—regardless of whether the “ cool and gray/ white” scheme is now old news, you’re showing it mixed with warm Dove woodwork which is a bad mix. But as Jan notes, the Dove color is better than the other icy colors.

I wonder if you need a color-tone savvy friend on site since some people just “ see” these undertones much better, and also it’s more accurate on-site with the actual lighting. Do you have inspiration pics to show? Although they are always subject to various personal criticisms, sometimes the pics show things about how what you like in the inspiration is or is not being accomplished by your choices. You might want to share something about your planned colors in furnishings and art, metallics.

A medium tone is most versatile and can be used in a warm/cool color scheme with your cream cabinets and woodwork.

With dark wood floors, very nice also.

Just clear coat the floors. No stain. Classic. And rip out that awful fireplace stone. Even if it didn’t color clash with everything else, that rough cheese grater your skin rustic look clashes with everything else.

I guess the OP is away. I hope they didn't give up from the negative comments, because warm and cool tones together can be very nice.
