RVR has restocked and has Joyberry and Lauren!

If you'd missed out earlier, RVR has Joyberry (Joycie X Basye's Blueberry) back in stock. It's a deciduous, all-season repeat, intensely scented shrub which shows autumn coloring and has large, orange, decorative hips. https://roguevalleyroses.com/rose/joycie-x-basyes-blueberry/ . https://helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=2.39745

They also have Lauren in stock! https://roguevalleyroses.com/rose/lauren . Eventual size will depend upon your climate and how sharp your pruning shears are. https://helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.39742 .

If you still have room and want something different, they are offering Ralph Moore's Nutshop. The name meant "the Nutkana moss growing by the shop" as it is a moss hybrid containing Nutkana genes. https://roguevalleyroses.com/rose/nutshop/ . https://helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=2.20647.1 .

Thank you, Kim. They are all so interesting. I love roses with great Fall color.

I'd love to have Lauren again as my previous one was eaten by my nemesis, the ground squirrels, but for now I'm sticking with the large roses from ARE which give almost instant satisfaction. Grandmother's Hat from RVR is the single exception, but she seems to be a rather thuggish rose who already has a bud, much to my delight.

Nutshop looks like a lovely little thing and I imagine it has a very nice fragrance?

Hmm, I just looked for Joyberry at RVR and it's not listed. Could it be sold out already?

Hi, Ingrid. Joyberry is this one:

And I’m just glad to discover this rose has a name. Joy berry is a nice name and much easier to say than “Joyce’s x Bayse’s Blueberry” . My little baby plant is planted in the ground now and I’m excited to see growth this spring!

Thanks, @bellegallica9a. That's why I posted both the URL's for the RVR and HMF pages for both roses.

I got a Joycie x Bayse's Blueberry from RVR a month or so ago, based on Kim's previous post. It sounded like a rose I will really enjoy (nice foliage, showy hips, strong scent, and fall color!) and, as it happens, a new bit of sunny space with reasonable soil becoming available in the garden due to the removal of the huge, old, but failing, CA pepper tree, made its addition possible. The loss of the pepper tree was just one of a multitude of adversities that had to be dealt with through the entirety of last year (and why I've mostly been absent here), but Joyberry represents a new bit of hope, and the epitome of gardening is certainly that!

Do you know if Lauren is actually the correct plant? I've ordered it from RVR and it came as a pale pink rose that I posted here and you agreed wasn't Lauren.

@HU-290063788, I wish I did. Unfortunately, I'm flying bind with them just as everyone else is. I just dug it out to see...the last time I was in contact with Janet was 1/19/2010 when she was receiving material from Ashdown and had already begun listing roses they didn't have for sale, and as the wrong names.

Catspa, so good to see you back! I’ve missed you and your beautiful garden photos. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a rough time lately, but glad to see you’re recovering and finding hope.

Catspa, I have several of those huge pepper trees and can't imagine having to take one out. Your garden is probably my favorite of all the beautiful gardens seen here, and I very much look forward to seeing it in bloom this spring.

That would be an interesting experience to grow MAC as a shrub since she's such a big girl, and I'd love to see photos of her as the year goes on. From what I remember of your garden all the roses you grow seem to be on steroids!
