Thanks for Your Votes and Help

The final count before I deleted the topic was 16 for green and 13 for blue. I decided to go in a completely different direction. I'll use the Aynsley china for different occasion with a different tablecloth so the blue stemware looks better.

This is what I'll be using instead and, no, it's not for St. Patrick's Day. I didn't even think of that! It's for Pi Day and I'm making a round frittata.

BTW, the green of the charger is much darker in real life.

I love that combination Fun2be! Black Watch is one of my favorite plaids and I love seeing it paired with green. Your table setting is beautiful!

It looks great! Do you have R&B Francis I? Sure looks like it-that’s my pattern also.

@texanjana, I do have R&B Francis I. My mother started me on the pattern. I probably would have chosen a simpler design, but I enjoy using it. Do you use yours regularly?

Francis I is my pattern as well. My grandmother started it for me when I was about 8. It was my Mom’s pattern as well, so now I have 24 place settings. Love the plaid!

Wow, @mojomom, maybe we need to start a Francis I society...😉. You're so lucky to have inherited more pieces. I don't have a large number of people over for dinner these days, so I don't have a need a huge number of place settings, but there were times in my life, I would have loved to have had more place settings. I have both the dinner and luncheon sizes which serve me well for most occasions.

Another with Francis I here -- also from my grandmother. I thought I recognized it in one of the photos. I also got my mother's pattern when my sister said she didn't want it. I have a silverplate pattern as well, but all smaller sets. My stainless is either 20 or 24 place settings plus I still have what is left of the stainless we got when we got married tucked away for extras because we used to have family dinners of 12, 15, 20 or more people.

@lascatx, we always hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the extended family times two, so two huge groups of 30 or more for each holiday. Covid finally ended the tradition and, honestly, I was thankful because I was really tired of doing it. I was willing to do it to honor my parents' wishes, but I don't miss it. Now, I get together with the cousins whose company I enjoy on non-holiday occasions which is easier and less stressful for both hosts and guests.

I was glad to do it too, and with mixed feelings as the numbers declined. I started to resent that I was expected to do every event and people would show up late, bring unexpected things, bring their casserole unassembled and I was stuck in the kitchen for cooking and clean up while everyone else got to visit -- which was a lot of the reason we would all get together and I missed out on most of it. After my parents passed, I just wasn't up to it. I made a reservation, paid for it out of the estate and said this one was for and from my father. It was great. I'd love to be closer to some of my cousins. Enjoy that.

Lots of Francis l fans here. Ours is sterling, chosen when we got married. My inlaws had the same pattern, and my MIL gave theirs to me several years ago. Theirs is monogrammed. I have at least 24 place settings and every serving piece imaginable. I don’t use it very often, but I do love it.

My SIL got the Francis l sterling punch bowl, ladle and cups as well as their gorgeous mahogany dining furniture. She lives in a very large and formal home, and entertains often as part of her job. My MIL served homemade egg nog from the punch bowl every Christmas.

@texanjana, I have serving pieces that I have no idea of their intended use, so I use them for whatever purpose makes sense to me. A lot of mine came from a darling little lady, Norma Baker, who had a silver shop on W. 7th in Fort Worth. She was so knowledgeable and was always ready to talk about the various pieces. I sure missed her when she left this earth.
