Lvp is like laminate with a layer of clear vinyl on top of the printed picture of wood. Some have very weak click systems.

If you find something you like, order or buy a full box to lay out in your space to see the tonal variations. Some versions can be stripey. Modine by Flooret is good value, direct sales.

You can go for engineered hardwood. A light European Oak is very popular because that species does not have open grain or oxidize to yellow. 7-11" widths flat cut show the wood structure. This is what much of the lvp is mimicking.

From what I understand you are looking to replace the kitchen tile as well?

Personally I would use solid hardwood, but perhaps your subfloor isn't suitable for that. My second choice is engineered hardwood.

I just removed Coretec LVP from our living room, sunroom, and kitchen and replaced it with solid oak. The old floors were fine, but we really love hardwood, and as we were doing the kitchen (and solid wood goes under the cabinets), we did everything at once. In a couple of weeks I will be installing our old flooring in our son's house, replacing cheap, crappy, poorly installed laminate.

Note

A benefit from using engineered flooring is wider plank width, up to 11-12". You get more of the wood structure than with 3-1/2 to 4-1/2" solid.
