It’s been almost 10 years, but we liked the Radisson Blu in Reykjavik. Especially bc they had suites with bunkbeds for our kids! I remember the buffet breakfast being very good. And very walkable.

We are going back in May but staying at an airbb because there will be 7 of us.

We are staying at The Merrion in Dublin this summer. I am told that they have an amazing art collection which I am looking forward to seeing.

I stayed at the Camden Court in Dublin. It was within walking distance of many sights. Hope to get to Iceland one day!

I’m going to Reykjavik later in the summer. There are 6 of us - 3 young kids, DD, DSIL, and me. We are staying at a VRBO near the Saga Museum. I also looked at these. https://heimaleiga.is I can’t remember now why I chose the VRBO over those. It may have been because the VRBO has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plus a washer and dryer. When traveling with small children, the more bathrooms the better!

Our friends who went last year stayed at the Marriott Edition next to Harpa Concert Hall. They were very pleased.

How long is your stopover in Reykjavik?

@bbstx, our stopover is only 3 days.

We spent 18 days a privately owned apartment (Airbnb) in Reykjavik, which was walking distance to downtown. Not a short stroll, mind you, but a long saunter through neighborhoods and business areas that gave us a real feel for being a part of local life. We had a car, but only used it for outlying areas. Reykjavik is very walkable. It's a lovely city.

I was going to add the Shelbourne in Dublin until I looked at their recent rates? Lolol. I've stayed there, and it's gorgeous. But, how much time do you stay in your hotel room?

PS the 3 main reasons those restaurants are on my list:

- good reviews

- convenient location downtown (we can walk)

- I was able to make reservations for 7

We decided we will have dinner out 3 nights, and (the kids will) cook at home 3 nights.
