Need help with furniture layout to make living room feel spacious

We have a new living room addition that we want to make both beautiful and functional. It’s the first room you see when entering the house, so it sets the tone. The room is 22 inch wide and 15 inch deep, with a 15-foot ceiling. The fireplace wall is a stunning focal point, and we’re considering placing the TV to its right.
However, I’m struggling with furniture placement—how do we make the space feel open and not cramped? This is our main hangout space, so comfort and style are both important. We also need a practical spot for shoes and coat storage.
Any suggestions on layout, furniture size, or smart storage ideas to help the space feel roomy and welcoming would be appreciated!

The challenge is your design includes a major traffic flow requirement through the center of your new space. It appears designed as an expansive foyer. Like for a country estate.

Unfortunately these things should have been planned from the beginning. Your layout and traffic patterns aren't really conducive to how you want to use this room.

Open and welcoming combined with coat and shoe storage and comfy hang out just don't really mix.

So your choices include putting a couch with its back to the door facing the fireplace and the TV over the fireplace, or split your room in half, have no seating face the fireplace, and use the left half for a TV wall with built-ins on either side of the TV to look like a entertainment wall that would actually be closet space (think pax) and a small seating arrangement on the other side for conversation. You won't have a lot of space for that though after accounting for the walkway you need (4'). (22-4)/2=9. A couch is about 3' wide and pax are 2' so you'd be left with about 4' between the wall and the couch. It's doable and definitely cozy but a bit tight.

Probably too late to get an outlet and tech tube on your fireplace, because I think the first option is your best bet.

Putting the TV to the right of the fireplace is just not a great plan. You will block off a corridor and ruin the aesthetic. If you mean putting it on the wall, that's not good either.

Sorry I don't have any better advice. The aesthetics are nice but the practicality of actually laying out furniture is challenging.
