Kohler Villager Tub Finish Acceptable?

Hello, just had a Kohler Villager cast iron tub delivered from HD and wondering if you all think it is acceptable? Two areas of concern:

The lumpy appearance of the porcelain finish on both the exterior and interior vertical surfaces of the tub. You can feel the lack of smoothness when you run your hand over the tub as well. Not sure if this is normal with a cast iron tub or considered excessive. We are dead set on either a cast iron or steel tub by the way.
The lack of porcelain around the main drain. Not sure if this will cause issues in the future or if this will be negated by the tub drain assembly covering it.

It all looks normal. The porcelain at the drain will be covered in silicone; no worries.

I'm 100% on team cast iron. I read about many complaints of rippling - I call it the cottage cheese effect - on Kohler tubs when we purchased one three years ago. I went on a wing and a prayer that ours wouldn't have much and it didn't.

I think you just need to decide if you can live with it. Perhaps your shower curtain will cover it and that will mediate it. If not and it bothers you, consider what other options you have and if certain Kohler tubs have less cottage cheese than others.

Curious what others have to say about the drain.

I definately would not want that cottage cheese looking tub. Look for another brand, read all reviews.
