Two Amber Glow compared to a regular Metasequoia.

The Amber Glow went in the ground just last fall so its early. I swear somedays I see more Amber lol.

And it was a different color yesterday.

I could work up a chart but I'll wait to see if a sunny day one day = amber bronze the next pattern emerges.

This is my Amber Glow. Its been in the ground since the spring. I am going to post pics of my Ogon below for conparison.

My initial take is individual braches or leaves of the Ogon are the among the most intricate and steiking things around.

The Amber Glow is no slouch for any individual leaf but if the pattern holds might be better than Ogon from a distance

Where does DR fall on the deer destruction scale? It’s so soft and tender I could see trying it. Okay, not really, but the foliage texture seems benign.

I'm afraid it would be a 'zone too far' for me to attempt (unless its clearance priced ha-ha).

Deer only destroy the things we allow them to destroy (famous old saying around here, lol).

Judging from the pictures, his trees have enough size, which prevents getting browsed to death and is that protection I see around the trunk?
