Curtains or blinds/shades?

Why do you need to cover the windows? Privacy and/or sun control?

I don’t necessarily want them. Hubby does. I think it would look nice with some color

I would not do valances just the cafe curtain on the lower half of window.

If you have no specific goal like privacy light filtering insulation blocking a view etc then get a pole / rings and a sheer to swish back and forth as you see fit. jc penny panels on sale or Ikea has panels ….curtains or shades or blinds can have a lot of features w liners / materials and other functions if you want the investment but you dont say what a goal would be.

start w basic sheers on a pole...you can layer other treatments as your space and your style evolve over time.

this room is bigger but you have nice windows to become a feature.
