Recommendations for a 54" inch 3-wall alcove bathtub for guests, kids

I've read older posts about brands such as Maax, Kingston Brass, etc. that come in a 54 in length, and I have to decide between acrylic and enameled steel, 54" alcove, in a short time period. I considered a cast iron Kohler, but not practical for what I need for grandchildren.

I looked at Bootz and it felt horrible/thin, so wondering if products have gone downhill or whether folks would still recommend Maax. It seems like Maax acrylic was ok, but not so much the enameled steel, which is what the 54" is available in. This will just be used for occasional bathing; separate shower in a guest bath. Yes, I'm one of those who don't like to shower in a bathtub.

54" is a mobile home size. Not the industry standard of 60. Forget doing a tub entirely at that size. Just do a shower instead. And keep handy in a closet a camping/temp tub for if you have babies visit.

I thanked you for responding, but not helpful if you have experience with kids:) I happen to have that size now in a house from the 80s, but dislike taking a shower in a tub and took out the huge tub in the master bath to put in a huge shower. A camping tub for a 6 or 9 yo who like to take baths? really...

If the grandkids don't live with you full time, estimate how many baths they will take before they graduate to showering. (I'm a little surprised that the 9 YO isn't already there.) Then divide that by the cost of a mostly useless undersized bathtub to figure out what the cost per bath will be. Don't forget that that tub isn't going to get installed tomorrow and won't be a reality until 3 months to a year from now with the GK that much older.
