The house is super charming as is. I don’t think I’d do anything that drastic.

I’d redo the landscaping and new light fixture and address on the front.

If you really want to, you can replace the concrete walkway with something nicer.

Take off the shutters and relandscape the front yard.

Beverly, wow on the changed landscape.…makes a big difference.! I don’t care for the very white trim against the brick, and would prefer a cream or a warmer color. Can anyone visually add a charming fence, maybe with a trellis?

Consider removing the shutters and the shrub on each side of the entry steps and replace with a tall planter to have colorful annuals. Can hardly see there are nice railings on the porch. Add decorative edging to the walkway, and landscaping further out into the yard will be the differentiator compared to all the neighbors. Paint the entry door a happy color.

You could add a new entry to your home but otherwise, as another poster said, it's quite charming. The landscaping could use some work.

Agree with all and following up with jack, once you remove the black shutters, you can paint the door any color you like. My vote is yellow.

An upgrade to the path would make a huge difference.

Your house already has a solid charm.
A few tweaks would heighten the curb appeal.
The shutters do not belong.
The stoop is overwhelmed by blocking foliage,so general entry feels constipated and reduces the welcoming factor.
Widen the landing area at door so railing is visible,remove the impacted bushes.
Expand the flower beds on either side ,and segue into more low plantings bordering a much wider path.
Consider color updates to door once the landscaping is rectified.
None of these changes will strain your budget,and the increased eye appeal will stimulate neighbor envy and then perhaps spur them to enhance their paltry efforts.Big favor to the whole community !

Landscaping and hardscaping are the way to go. Plus a bright door in blue or yellow.
