Metal Roof vs CertainTeed Belmont

We are very torn between a standing seam metal roof and CertainTeed Belmont for our mountain lake house. I’ve attached pictures of a 3D mockup (not a great image but it’s the best we’ve got) and the roof types were torn between. The house exterior will be shingles stained the color below, not the natural stained siding, with dark bronze windows. Would love advice!!!

Carefully evaluate where the snow will go after it slides off your metal roof.

We did our roof last fall and debated about a metal roof but wound up going with CertainTeed Pro. The thought of the sound of rain falling on the metal roof above our bedroom was enough to make us decide against it. Snow is definitely the other issue - sliding off on to all my landscaping plants was a hard no. I love the look of metal but......

We have a metal roof. I can only hear rain on it if I go outside. Proper insulation can be a great sound deadener. OP's roof will require a top notch roofer if in metal, due to the crickets and changes in slope.

Apples and oranges. You'll have to redo the shingled roof long before you have to do anything to the metal roof. Not comparable in money either. Noise is not an issue with the metal roof. It's not like it's a tin corrugated metal roof with no insulation.

If the snow builds up on the roof you'll get ice damns and the roof will leak. I'd rather have a roof that sheds the snow.
