How to Manage Uneven Surfaces in My Garden for Better Drainage?

Hello everyone,

I’ve recently started working on my garden and have been focusing on improving the layout and design for better flow and aesthetics. However, I’ve noticed that some areas of the garden have uneven surfaces, which seems to cause puddles to form after heavy rain. This is especially problematic near the edges where I plan to set up garden beds and outdoor seating.

I spoke with a landscaping professional, and they mentioned that sometimes these uneven surfaces can be an issue over time, especially if the ground wasn’t leveled properly during earlier work. While I don't want to disrupt the existing plants, I'm wondering if it's necessary to level these spots for better drainage and overall stability.

Has anyone here had experience with this?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
