Hi Chris - can you please post an image of your existing kitchen? If you are not sure how to do this, check out the New to Kitchens thread.

I would like to suggest that you spend the money on adding recessed lights (3000K) and maybe changing the island pendant too (I like it but it doesn't seem to give enough functional illumination. Are the cabinets in poor condition or you're just looking for a refresh?

    I love the green walls.

I was going to change the hardware and the lighting . I wanted to paint the cabinets an off white . Then cabimets are in great shape .

Will you paint the cabinets yourself or have someone else do them? Either way, what process and what products?

Painted cabinets look lovely online right after they are completed. But unless you are having a professional cabinet painter (not a wall/house painter) do a great, and usually expensive job, they can chip easily and start to look pretty crappy. For this reason, painting cabinets seems like a great idea for someone whose cabinets are NOT in good shape and they know they will replace them in just a few years.

Because your cabinets are in great shape, either get a professional, expensive paint job. Or not paint them at all and focus on other changes. Hardware, lighting, etc.

i'm not as enthused about the darker green walls. You have contrast w floor being quite dark and counters of a medium tone.......By lighter walls you may achieve about the same refresh as off white cabinets... thats about what they are anyway. Good shape cabinets , of older style , very close to a neutral........why paint? you want a lighter look ? ...lighten the walls..... save tons of money.

Agree on light beige walls as a first inexpensive step.

There are many, many whites. Bring home sample cards to narrow down the field for walls or cabinets. 3500K led lighting is a common choice. The led tone you install will affect the color of white you'll see in your space.

Your cabinets looked like wood, not already painted. Here's a kitchen done in BM's Natural Cream with your backsplash and counter colours (take from your pictures).

So the cabinets were painted a yellow color from previous owners.

    Love that

From your overall picture it looks like you could use more lighting. Led 4" cans with 3500K whiteness could be a major change.
