Our previous house came with a 48" DCS Range with griddle. Never used the griddle.

When we remodeled we replaced it with a 48" Wolf Range, but unfortunately they didn't offer 8 burners at that time, so I went with the griddle. When we sold the house a few years later the buyers got a brand new, never used griddle!

New house I went with a 36" Induction Range and a Miele CSO XXL (convection steam oven).

I always found the small oven in the 48" range too small for most things and didn't own any cookie sheets or pyrex that were a good size to fit in there.

Make sure you look really carefully at the oven sizes and take cookie sheets, pyrex and other things you use in the oven, to a showroom, to actually see/test how things will fit.

If your layout allows it, consider a 48” rangetop and separate double electric wall ovens. I understand space can be an issue, it’s just so much more convenient having wall ovens, especially if you and your spouse are tall.

When we updated our kitchen we changed out the gas stove and went with the Bert dual fuel and have been very happy with it. We like the gas burners but had a tough time with the gas oven

IMO no one really needs a 48" range and for sure not the ridiculous priced griddle thta comes with a Wolf. I have a griddle thta spans 2 burners on my all gas 36" range the gridd;e cost $25 and has worked well for 20 yrs. I Have a Bert I love it but the brand is whatever you like I like all gas but I also have double electric wall ovens . My issue with a 48" range is the venting it is hugely noisy and $$$$$$$ for no real reason unless you cook for 20 3x aday.

We went from a 36" Wolf AG w/ 12" griddle to a 48" Bluestar RNB AG w/ 24" griddle. This was a good move. The BS burners are much better than the Wolf. Unfortunately the BS griddle is not as even as Wolf's but for us the burners make up for it so overall we're happy.

Like Patricia, I have a griddle pan (Calphalon) that spans two burners on my 36" Wolf dual fuel range. Anecdotally I have read that many people don't like the built-in griddle or never use it.
